Sculpture of Countess Mona Bismarck unveiled

Ambassador Stapleton unveiled a sculpture of the Countess Mona Bismarck marking the 25th anniversary of her passing and establishment of the foundation named after her. The sculpture, specially commissioned for the occasion, will be placed in the first floor reception and conference area as a reminder to the public of Mona Bismarck's generosity and role as benefactor. The Mona Bismarck Foundation is an American Foundation, established by Countess Mona Bismarck (1897-1983), promoting artistic, musical, literary, scientific and educational activities, in particular those that encourage Franco-American friendship. The Foundation also plays an important role by housing several Franco-American groups active in Paris.
